HAVE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW SUFFERED FROM A FAULTY AIRBAG IN A KIA VEHICLE?
In January 2022, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a safety recall report regarding faulty airbags in Kia vehicles that fail to deploy when necessary.
If you or a loved one were injured due to a faulty airbag in one of the following Kia vehicles, contact our experienced airbag recall attorneys today.
The NHTSA report indicated over 400,000 vehicles could potentially be involved, including over 250,000 Kia Soul vehicles (2017-2019). In response, Kia recalled more than 10,000 cars.
According to the report, the root of the issue is a memory chip in the vehicles’ circuit board. The chip may inadvertently come in contact with the Airbag Control Unit (ACU), leading to electrical issues that affect the airbag’s deployment.
“The Airbag Warning Light will illuminate with diagnostic trouble code B1620 and the vehicle’s airbags will not deploy in crashes where deployment is necessary,” the report states.
