BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Cory Watson Attorneys is pleased to announce that attorney Andrew Jones has been recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal as one of Birmingham’s “Rising Stars of Law” for 2018.
This annual list honors and highlights up-and-coming lawyers in the Birmingham metro area. Jones is among 35 honorees that, according to the BBJ, were selected based on their contributions to their firms and their potential to shape the industry, and the Magic City’s legal world, forward.
“Andy is recognized for his proven talent and ability to add value to the team approach the firm takes with injury cases involving the largest corporations in the world,” said firm co-founder Leila Watson. “His tireless work ethic and dedication to his clients is inspiring. We are proud to have him at Cory Watson and look forward to the next challenge for our latest ‘Rising Star’.”
Since joining the firm in 2011, Jones quickly distinguished himself among his colleagues and clients. Within three years of becoming an attorney, he was tapped as co-lead of the firm’s Asbestos practice group where he helped obtain more than $20 million in settlements for clients. He also had success as a litigator by fighting for a wrongful death case that had a positive impact on future cases statewide.
Jones attended the University of Alabama for his undergraduate studies and received his Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Jones serves as a mentor for Birmingham Southern’s Panther Partnership program and is a member of the American Bar Association as well as the Alabama Association for Justice. He has been named as a National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 under 40.”
On behalf of Cory Watson Attorneys and our thousands of clients statewide, we thank Andy for his dedication to our firm, clients, profession, and his community.
A complete list of honorees appeared in the Birmingham Business Journal on October 11, 2018.
