Tuscaloosa, AL (September 30, 2021) – One woman was hospitalized following a three-vehicle accident in the Tuscaloosa area on Wednesday morning. On September 29, the police and emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a motor vehicle crash on University Boulevard.
Reports show that a 48-year-old female was stopped at a red light while in the eastbound lanes of University Boulevard during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, her 2007 Toyota Scion xB was rear-ended by a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro near the intersection of 24th Avenue East.
The impact of the crash caused the woman to be ejected from her vehicle. The woman’s vehicle continued forward and crashed into a 2007 Toyota Yaris.
The woman sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center for care. At this time, officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
