Alabama Pedestrian Accidents

Tuscaloosa, AL - Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Highway 69

The number of pedestrian deaths in Alabama saw a sharp rise in 2019. In 2018, there were 107 fatalities reported in pedestrian crashes across our state. By 2019, that number had risen to 120. These numbers indicate that pedestrians are in increasing danger when they are on our state’s roadways. Unfortunately, pedestrians are among the most vulnerable accident victims as they have no protection from the force of a collision. In fact, a pedestrian is substantially likely to be seriously hurt or even killed when they are involved in a crash.

Many reported Alabama pedestrian accidents are caused by negligent drivers. These drivers may fail to yield to pedestrians or violate various traffic laws. In the process, they can cause a catastrophic accident with devastating consequences. Under Alabama law, innocent accident victims have legal rights to compensation under certain circumstances.
