Pell City, AL (September 13, 2021) – A fire tore through a home in St Clair County that ultimately led to the loss of one person’s life. At around 2:20 a.m., on September 12, emergency crews were requested to provide assistance at the scene of a fire in Pell City.
Reports from the Wolf Creek Fire Department show that a home located on Okalona Road caught on fire during the early morning hours. Crews rushed to the scene and tried to rescue one person through a window. However, the flames were too intense.
The person inside the home ended up passing away from their injuries. Three first responders were transported to area hospitals for the treatment of inhalation injuries.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
