Fatal Car Accidents in Alabama
There is nothing more devastating than the loss of a loved one in an Alabama traffic accident. According to statistics from the Alabama Department of Transportation, there were 930 fatalities on our state’s roadways in 2019. This number includes 850 total crashes. While most crashes involve traditional vehicles such as cars and trucks, other accidents involve ATVs and other non-traditional vehicles. Although they are not as common it does not mean that they are any less deadly. In fact, they are often more dangerous because these types of vehicles do not offer the same type of protection as cars and other larger vehicles.
Under Alabama law, a crash victim may have certain valuable legal rights under various circumstances. If the accident was not your fault, you could be entitled to compensation for your medical bills, pain and suffering, and more. The amount of compensation that you could receive depends on many factors including the severity of your injuries. When you have been hurt in a crash, you should speak with an injury accident lawyer as soon as possible in order to understand and protect your rights. Your attorney will ensure that the negligent driver is held fully accountable for their actions.
