Montgomery, AL (October 4, 2021) – One person has lost their life following a motor vehicle accident in Montgomery on Monday afternoon. On October 4, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash on Birmingham Highway.
Reports from authorities show that a two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler occurred in the 2600 block of Birmingham Highway in the area near the Maxwell Air Force Base.
The crash prompted crews to close all lanes of the highway for an extended time as they worked to clear the scene.
One person involved in the accident sustained fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
