Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Montgomery, Alabama
Alabama is home to thousands of motorcycle riders. Although our state has a lot to offer for cyclists, there is a risk that they will suffer severe and fatal injuries if they become involved in crashes. A report from 2019 stated that our state ranks 15th in the most dangerous states across the country for riders.
The fact that riders do not have full body protection during crashes means they are more likely to suffer severe injuries in motor vehicle collisions. Out of our state’s combined fatal collisions reported each year, roughly 10% of people who lose their lives are motorcyclists. When riders are involved in crashes with drivers who are speeding or traveling in larger vehicles, the chances of being fatally injured are increased.
Many families are unprepared to deal with the consequences of a fatal accident. Not only are families forced to deal with overwhelming mental and emotional consequences, but they are often required to spend tens of thousands of dollars on funeral expenses and burial fees. When motorcyclists lose their lives in accidents caused by reckless drivers, their families may have legal options available. Reaching out to a wrongful death attorney in Montgomery can help you determine what options are available to get justice for your loved one.
