Fatal Accidents in Alabama

Over the course of a lifetime, a typical driver in Alabama has about a one in three chance of being involved in an injury accident. These numbers may seem surprising, but they represent the danger to the average motorists of being on our roadways each day. Sadly, there were 851 fatal accidents in Alabama in 2019 with 930 individuals losing their lives as a result of these crashes. An additional 46,383 people were hurt, many of them seriously.

The common thread being many car accidents in Alabama is the presence of a negligent driver. Most accidents are avoidable and are caused by drivers who are careless or reckless in some way. Some common causes of car accidents include speeding, impairment, and distraction. The cause of each crash must be carefully investigated in order to determine who should be held responsible.
