Clarke County, AL (September 19, 2021) – One woman has lost her life as a result of a traffic-related incident in Clarke County on Friday evening. Just before 6:40 p.m., on September 17, calls came in requesting assistance at the scene of an accident on Alabama 69.
Reports from local authorities show that a 74-year-old woman was driving a 1994 Nissan Altima on Alabama 69 when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2019 GMC Sierra near mile marker 8.
The woman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers. The driver of the GMC, a 21-year-old, was not injured in the accident. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
