Calera, AL (September 22, 2021) – On Tuesday afternoon, September 21, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to the scene of an accident involving two commercial vehicles. It happened on Interstate 65 at approximately 1:19 p.m.in Calera.
Reports from authorities show that two commercial vehicles and a third unidentified vehicle collided on the northbound side of the interstate. The crash prompted emergency crews to close down the roadway near the 237-mile marker in Shelby County.
The ALEA and firefighters worked extensively to remove vehicles and debris from the roadway. Medical personnel responded to the scene to treat injured victims and transport those in need of further care to area hospitals. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
