Birmingham, AL (October 8, 2021) – Police in Birmingham responded to the scene of a three-vehicle accident on Thursday, October 7th. The collision happened just after 6:30 p.m.
According to officials with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a 2006 Ford Explorer driven by a 48-year-old man, a 2003 Ford Windstar and a 2017 Toyota Rav 4 were all involved in the collision. The 46-year-old Windstar driver died at the crash scene. The 58-year-old Rav 4 driver and a passenger in the vehicle both sustained serious injuries. They were taken to Regional Medical Center in Aniston for treatment.
Authorities have not released any information on the events leading up to the collision. Motorists were asked to avoid the area while officers worked at the scene. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
