Birmingham, AL (September 24, 2021) – A 33-year-old man has lost his life as a result of a pedestrian accident in the Birmingham area on Thursday afternoon. On September 23, calls for assistance came in surrounding an accident on Interstate 59.
Reports from local authorities indicate that a FedEx truck was traveling on Interstate 59 when it struck a male pedestrian on the southbound side near the Roebuck exit.
The man, who was hired to clear litter from the interstate, sustained severe injuries in the accident. The victim was subsequently pronounced deceased from his injuries.
The driver of the FedEx vehicle fled the scene and was later apprehended.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
