Alabama Car Accidents
Fatal car accidents can take a devastating toll on families. The sudden loss of a loved one of the most difficult things that a family will have to face. The pain can be felt in many ways, including emotional, physical, and economic loss. When the victim was a financial breadwinner, the family may suddenly be struggling with various expenses, including funeral and medical bills, as well as the daily costs of living. The stress and strain of a fatal car accident in Alabama can quickly begin to feel overwhelming.
If you or a family member have been affected by a crash, you could have legal rights. Under Alabama’s wrongful death law, the victim’s next-of-kin could be entitled to file a claim against a negligent driver who was responsible for the accident. These claims are complicated and must be filed within a specified period of time. Only an experienced attorney should handle these cases. Victims who attempt to handle their own cases or deal with the insurance company without the help of a lawyer often end up making costly mistakes or settling their claim for far less than what it is worth.
