Injury Accidents in Alabama
According to statistics from the Alabama Department of Transportation, a reportable car accident took place in our state approximately once every three minutes in 2019. No one ever expects to be involved in an accident when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle. However, these statistics tell us that drivers are almost always at risk of being crash victims when they are on the roadway. Avoiding a crash depends on how safely drivers operate their vehicles. In some cases, however, victims are affected simply because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. This happens because of negligent driving that takes place on Alabama’s roadways.
Based on numbers provided by NHTSA, more than 94% of vehicle accidents are caused by human error or driver negligence. Drivers who disobey traffic laws and drive recklessly can cause major issues for innocent motorists. Some common examples of negligent driving include speeding, impaired driving, distraction, texting while driving, and failing to yield at stoplights and stop signs. When you have been hurt in an Alabama car accident, you should act without delay to protect your rights.
