Phenix City, AL (October 19, 2021) – Police in Phenix City are investigating after a pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday, October 17th. The accident occurred around 8:10 p.m. in the 3700 block of Opelika Road.
According to a report from the Phenix City Police Department, a pedestrian was walking near the roadway when they were hit by an oncoming vehicle. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the injured pedestrian lying in the roadway. An ambulance transported the pedestrian to a local hospital where they were treated for serious injuries. There is no word on the pedestrian’s condition or their identity at this time.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the crash. Police are currently searching for a suspect and have not provided a description of the vehicle at this time.
