Montgomery, AL (October 12, 2021) – The Montgomery Police Department responded to the scene of a crash between a car and an ambulance on Tuesday afternoon. The accident took place around 2:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Federal Drive near Sumter and Biltmore Avenue.
According to a report, the two cars collided at the intersection, causing the ambulance to overturn. The driver and a passenger in the ambulance were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers in the car suffered minor injuries while a third person sustained life-threatening injuries. Police have not provided any information on the events leading up to the accident.
All lanes of Federal Drive were closed while officials worked at the scene. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
