Injury Accidents in Alabama
According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, there were 159,925 car accidents in our state in 2019. This number represented a nearly 2 percent increase from the year before. As the number of car accidents continues to rise, motorists should always be aware of their surroundings when traveling on the roadway. This means using increased caution when behind the wheel, especially in congested areas such as interstates and busy city streets. The reality is that a car accident can take place at any time, and mostly when you least expect it.
A driver in Alabama has a 1 in 3 lifetime chance of being hurt or killed in a car accident. If you find yourself in this unfortunate situation, you should first ensure that your legal rights are protected. Under Alabama law, a negligent driver can be held responsible for the injuries that are caused as a result of their behaviors. This includes payment of expenses for the injured victim, including medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and potentially more. In order to enforce your legal rights, it is important to have help from a skilled Alabama car accident attorney.
