Irondale, AL (January 3, 2022) – A female pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash that took place on Sunday night in Irondale. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near mile marker 134 and 135.
According to Alabama State Troopers, the woman was walking near the roadway when she was hit by a Dodge Journey. The driver of the Journey failed to stop after striking the woman. The unidentified pedestrian died at the accident scene. Troopers are still looking for the Journey driver at this time. The vehicle is believed to be made between 2009 and 2020. There were no other injuries reported in the accident.
Troopers are still investigating the collision. No further details are available at this time.
