Huntsville, AL (October 13, 2021) – Officials in Huntsville were at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon. The accident was reported around 4:45 p.m. along Highway 53 near Blake Bottom Road.
According to the Huntsville Police Department, a woman in one vehicle was ejected from her car. She suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two passengers in a second vehicle were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There is no information at this time on the events that led up to the accident.
Police closed the southbound lanes of the highway while the accident was investigated. The northbound lanes were down to one lane as motorists were able to pass by the area. Drivers were asked to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
