Highland Home, AL (October 11, 2021) – Police near Highland Home were called to the scene of a deadly two-vehicle crash in Crenshaw County on Monday, October 11th. The wreck occurred just after 10:00 a.m on U.S. Highway 331 near mile marker 72.
Alabama state troopers responded to calls regarding the crash. According to an initial report, an 85-year-old man was driving on U.S. 331 when his car collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. The 85-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. There is no information on the cause of the accident.
Motorists were asked to use caution and to avoid the crash scene if possible. The road remained closed for several hours while police investigated at the scene.
