Fort Payne, AL (December 23, 2021) – One person was killed in a two-car crash that took place in Fort Payne on Wednesday, December 22nd. The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. on County Road 85 near Highway 602.
According to officials, a 19-year-old was driving a 2012 Jeep Wrangler when his vehicle collided with a 2004 Chevy Cavalier driven by a 28-year-old man from Fort Payne. The 19-year-old died at the crash scene while the 28-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There is no update on his condition at this time. The 19-year-old was not identified by police. There is no word on what caused the accident to take place and it is not clear whether any charges are expected to be filed.
An investigation is ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
