Emelle, AL (December 31, 2021) – Police are investigating following a deadly crash near Emelle on Thursday, December 30th. The accident took place along Interstate 59 near mile marker 33.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, three cars were involved in the accident. Rescue workers arrived at the scene just after the collision took place. When officials arrived, they pronounced a 29-year-old woman from Emelle dead at the crash scene. Two other drivers were also injured in the accident. There is no word on the full extent of their injuries at this time. Police have not released any information on the cause of the accident. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel.
An investigation is underway. No further information is available.
