As of 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities in Alabama was on the rise. Since 2008, our state has seen a greater than 60% increase in the number of reported deaths due to pedestrian accidents with more than 120 pedestrians killed in the most recent year for which we have statistics. More than 70% of all pedestrian accidents in Alabama occur after dark when driver visibility is lower and pedestrians are at greater risk of being struck.
Following a pedestrian accident, all aspects of the crash must be carefully investigated.
