Cottondale, AL (November 24, 2021) – A Cottondale woman was killed in a car accident that took place in Dekalb County on Wednesday, November 24th. The accident occurred on Interstate 59 near mile marker 202.
The ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division responded to the crash scene. According to troopers, a 38-year-old woman was a passenger in a vehicle when the car ran off the road and struck a tree. The collision took place around 8:00 a.m. According to police, a 36-year-old man from Cottondale was driving the car when it crashed. In addition to the woman, three juveniles in the car were taken to a hospital for treatment. There is no word on the extent of their injuries at this time. The cause of the accident is not clear.
