Cory Watson Attorneys Donates Helmets for Mountain Bike Team at Hayes Middle School

Cory Watson Attorneys was pleased to donate bicycle helmets to the Mountain Biking team at Hayes Middle School on December 7th, 2015.  The Hayes team is the first school-sponsored cycling team in the City of Birmingham Schools.  Hayes Principal Cedric Tatum was on hand for the presentation along with Birmingham Board of Education District 4 representative Daagye Hendricks. Ms. Hendricks thanked Cory Watson and other Birmingham businesses that are helping sponsor the team. “This is a fantastic example of how the community can come together to create opportunities for our children,” said Ms. Hendricks who noted that other companies have also pitched in , helping the team secure bicycles, uniforms and other supplies.

 

Cory Watson attorney Alyssa Daniels and Hayes Coach Wayne Jackson joined others in fitting the riders with helmets. ” While our work as attorneys involves helping people who have been injured in accidents, our community focus is on accident prevention. The Cory Watson Helmets for Kids program takes the message of accident prevention to children. We have provided helmets for more than 4000 children as part of our commitment to promoting accident prevention, health and well-being,” said Ms. Daniels.

Cory Watson Attorneys created the Helmets for Kids program to encourage children to always wear a helmet when riding a bicycle. The firm provides children with free bicycle helmets and age-appropriate booklets encouraging bicycle safety and accident prevention.

The Helmets for Kids program is part of the firm’s Cory Watson Cares initiative. Through Cory Watson Cares, the firm partners with schools and local non-profit organizations that expand educational opportunities, raise awareness of injury prevention, improve the community and help people live healthier, safer and happier lives.
