Collinsville, AL (October 18, 2021) – A 54-year-old woman from Harrisburg, Illinois was killed in a motorcycle crash that took place on Saturday, October 16th. The accident happened on Interstate 59 near mile marker 201 around 10:45 a.m.
According to a report, the woman was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by a 57-year-old man from Tennessee. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle left the road and overturned and ejected the woman. Rescue workers responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased as a result of her injuries. There is no word whether the driver was hurt. There were no other vehicles or individuals involved in the collision. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
The ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the accident at this time. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No additional details have been released.
