Coffee County, AL (September 9, 2021) – On Sunday evening, September 5th, a motor vehicle accident that claimed two lives was reported in Coffee County. Authorities were dispatched to the scene on US Route 231 at around 9:00 p.m.
Reports from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency show that a Nissan Versa was traveling on US-231 when it struck a pedestrian near the 57-mile marker.
The pedestrian and the front seat passenger in the Nissan were both fatally injured as a result of the collision. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The pedestrian was identified as a 49-year-old man from De Pere, Wisconsin. The front seat passenger was identified as a 65-year-old female from Blountstown, Florida.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
