Alabama Pedestrian Accidents
In Alabama, a pedestrian crash can change the lives of many people in an instant. Pedestrian accidents in Alabama result in injuries approximately 80% of the time. The percentage of death and serious injuries resulting from pedestrian crashes far exceed the rates for car accidents and other types of crashes. Pedestrians have little protection from the force and impact of a serious crash and are very vulnerable when they are hit by a passenger vehicle.
Many pedestrians are injured or killed in crashes that are not their fault. Failing to yield the right of way and inattention are common causes of many pedestrian accidents in our state. These crashes are entirely preventable if the driver used care and caution to avoid the accident. However, the failure to exercise caution will inevitably lead to many unnecessary pedestrian deaths.
