Birmingham, AL (September 17, 2021) – One person was hospitalized as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Birmingham area on Thursday afternoon. On September 16, emergency crews rushed to the site of a crash on Interstate 59.
Reports from local authorities indicate that a collision blocked Interstate 59 North in the area of Exit 132 near US Highway 11. The incident caused moderate delays in the area after police and firefighter closed off the roadway to assist.
Firefighters extricated one person who was trapped in their vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
