Birmingham, AL (December 6, 2021) – A man from Birmingham was struck and killed by a vehicle along a Birmingham highway this past weekend. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m on I-59/20.
The Birmingham Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to police, a 70-year-old man was involved in a two-car crash on I-59. The man exited his vehicle to check on the other individual in the original accident. As he exited the car, the man was hit by a third vehicle traveling on I-59. Paramedics rushed to the scene and transported the injured man to UAB Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No one else was hurt in the accident.
At this time, there have been no charges filed or arrests made. The crash remains under investigation. There is no additional information available.
