Alabama Car Accidents
No matter how careful a driver is, it is likely that everyone will experience at least one car accident in their lifetime. According to the Alabama Department of Transportation, the average resident of our state has about a 1 in 3 chance of being involved in a car accident with serious injuries. This number is obviously higher for more minor crashes. However, drivers should always be aware that they are constantly at risk of being involved in an Alabama car accident any time they get behind the wheel or get into a motor vehicle.
Following a crash, it is important to determine how the accident took place. Fault for a car accident is the key to deciding whether you could have a legal claim for compensation. Under Alabama law, a driver who was responsible for causing an accident can be legally required to cover the damages caused by their actions. This includes payment of lost wages, pain and suffering, medical bills, and more. If you have been hurt in a crash that was not your fault, it is vital to have an experienced car accident lawyer in Athens who can help you get the compensation that you deserve.
